

Richard Allan Scott Richard Allan Scott (Dick), of Novato, passed away February 23, 2013 after a short illness. Born in 1946, Dick was raised in Novato, and graduated from Novato High School in 1965. He earned an AA Degree from College of Marin, and later served in the US Navy. Having been a Boy Scout himself, Dick became very active in Scouting with his sons and Troop 42. He was an avid collector of all things, a photography enthusiast, and an outdoorsman. His family and friends will remember him through his photographs, stories, and sense of humor. In 2011, he retired from the City of Novato Public Works Department after 37 years of service. Dick is survived by his wife Lydia, son Robert, mother Gloria Scott, sisters Nancy Moxie and Judi Scott-Dewing, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Stanley Scott and son David Scott. Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, from 4 to 7 pm, and a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 1 pm. Both will be at Keaton's Redwood Chapel, 1801 Novato Blvd, Novato. Immediately following the Memorial Service, there will be a reception at the Druids Hall, 801 Grant Ave, Novato. Contributions in Dick's memory can be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 42.
