Evelyn G. Wallace

She grew up in Steele, Missouri, graduating in 1942, moved to Memphis where she met and married Arthur W Brown. Art was in the Navy bringing them to beautiful Whidbey Island, where they settled and raised a family.

She spent many years in Oak Harbor, WA. She worked as a cook for Oak Harbor School District from Clover Valley, Olympic View, and Crescent Harbor. She was a member of the Hospital Guild, The American Legion, The VFW, and bowled on many leagues. She loved traveling, reading, puzzles, bingo, all kinds of card games.

Preceding her in death were Arthur Brown, (married 31 years) and her second husband Norman Wallace (married 19 years). She leaves behind her three children, Peggy Shannon Brown (Tom Shannon) of Clinton, Bill Brown of Westville, OK, and Trish Aydelotte (John) of Oak Harbor, Stepmother Velma Farris of Nashville, TN, two sisters, Robbie Sue Glover (Carl), of Steele, MO and Vicki Greve (Gaylen) of Decatur, GA, one brother Hollie Farris (Susan) of Dickson, TN, Six Grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm May 11th at Burley Funeral Home 30 SE Ely St. Oak Harbor, WA.
