

Philip Jay Andreasen, a.k.a. “Phishook,” age 45, of Vernal, passed away at the Uintah Care Center in Vernal on Sept. 2, 2011. Phil was born in Bishop, Calif. on Dec. 15, 1965 to Frank and Marlene Andreasen.
He graduated from Uintah High School and later moved to Salt Lake City where he worked as a tile setter. He married Shari Davies, they were later divorced. Phil operated Andreasen Tile in Vernal.
He loved the outdoors. He liked shooting, hiking, fishing, wood carving and riding motorcycles. He especially liked motorcycle hill climbing and participated in the Widow Maker and Big Nasty Hill Climbs with his children, Mitch and Brooke. He was adventurous and a friend to all.
Phil is survived by his father Frank; sister Kathlene (William) Wallace; brothers, Mark (Tammy); Dave (Teri); and Nathan; sons: Andy (Traci); Chris (Shiloh); Zac (Anna); Mitch; and daughter Brooke; grandchildren: Ashtynn, Eryka, Amelia, Alexis, and Haiden. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marlene.
Many special thanks to Shari for the many years of love, concern, and assistance given to Philip and likewise to all his family and friends: To his several doctors and the Uintah Care Center staff for their kindness and competent care, and to those of the Care Center Branch of the LDS Church for the love and attentiveness shown to Philip.
