I just saw the obituary of your husband Andrew, and do wish to extend to you and your family belated condolence. He was a truly great man, a thoughtful person, a gentleman, and I much admired him. I am sorry for your loss in his passing.

Today, we celebrate two years that Andy left to live with Jesus. I miss him very much, but I'm so happy he's walking the streets of gold now. Andy is celebrating his new life with countless others that accepted Christ as their Savior. As a born again Christian, I look forward to seeing him again for an eternity. My prayers are with Sheri's family today and every day.

I always enjoyed Andy’s performance as one of Jesus’s disciples in the “Living Last Supper” at Ashburn Baptist Church. Just tonight we were telling our kids about the play, and I was reminded of his passion and dedication to the part - he really made it all come to life! He will be sorely missed. Praying for the Weissmann family.

Andy was a Blessing to everyone he meet, I was Blessed to go to Bible Study with him and his wonderful wife . He will be missed by many .  Rest In Peace Andy

Andy will always be remembered as a soft-spoken, kind, gentleman who truly was a servant of God's.  He had a magnificent way of speaking in front of people.  He did a fabulous job as the Cross Maker in the production of, "He's Alive!", telling the story of Jesus Christ, His personal Savior.  Andy was also our son's Bible teacher who was kind and patient.  While he will be sorely missed on this earth, it is a comfort to know that He is with His Savior and in His presence.  May Andy here the glorious words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

You will be missed here but we will see you with Jesus  in Heaven .  You and Sherry were great teachers for Praveen . I enjoyed the bible studies with you .

I remember the evening in the early 90’s when I received a call out of the blue in which Andy asked (in my Gary’s absence) if I was married to a man who’d previously served in the Marines and was from Chicago, was “xx” years old and served a stint in Hawaii in the late 70’s?  I answered “yes.”  Well, it was a magical conversation and a lasting friendship between our families was born.  Coincidentally, his wife’s name was Sherri too!  He told me his first son was named Gary indicative of the friendship he & my hubby shared growing up, and their time in “the Corp” together.  Andy was so very happy to have found his long-lost friend especially since back then when we had no internet, just old-fashioned means of tracking down people.  I don’t even recall how he came across our phone number!  Just so very happy he did.  Sheri and I have adored one another ever since.  Shortly after receiving the call, our family made a trip from Maryland to Chicago to visit so the guys could catch up and our boys could play together, and Sheri and I could meet!  We made so many fun memories!!  Always dear …          - Sherry

Memories – I smile when I remember our friendship started almost 50 years ago with an argument over a baseball glove during a sandlot baseball game. All those long summer days and nights with you, Artie and our friends by the lake at the Trace. Our not-so-great vacation to Marathon Key with my Mom and Johnny – LOL. Seeing Artie return home from Marine Corps boot camp and agreeing that we would join the Marines as well. Seeing you for the first time from the barracks window with your platoon during our time in boot camp at MCRD San Diego. Our days together at Camp Horno in Camp Pendleton and the nights at the beach club in San Onofre. Taking the bus to San Diego to attend the Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium. Taking the bus to Anaheim and spending many weekends at Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm and spending one special weekend with your Dad at Magic Mountain. Our parting when I was re-assigned to Hawaii and you returned home from California. Reuniting in Illinois years later, playing softball with the Jesters and attending Artie’s wedding with all our old friends. Parting ways again when I moved to the east coast but reuniting and meeting each other’s family 17 years later. We didn’t get to see each other as often as we would have liked over the years - busy with careers and raising our families but we would eventually get back together. The big surprise (on you) when Sherry and I met you and Sheri on the Caribbean cruise (2018).  We had such a great time!  And the last time we were together when you and Sheri came to visit us on Kauai. So many good memories! We never got to see that Bears home game in Soldier’s Field - but I will see you again Andy and we will laugh and reminisce on all the good times we had together. Until we meet again my dear friend, may you rest in peace. I love you bro – Semper Fi.                              – Gary

Andy was the quiet member of our family. Yet there was never a time he didn't have a joke or a well-placed pun on hand to bring a laugh and big smiles.  He appreciated and knew the value of family. He was always present at every family gathering, function, vacation - the best person to travel with hands down! He was always attentive to our needs, always ready to share our joys and triumphs as well as provide support when we were down, always a fighter whether it was his own health or simply in what he believed in.  Thank you, God for allowing us to have Andy for the time he was with us.

There so many wonderful memories I have of Andy, it's hard to choose one. Our Dunkin Donuts King! Andy was always so fun on vacations, and always found the right joke for any circumstance. He had a great gentleness and compassion for everyone. I will miss him for now, but rejoice that I will see him again in heaven. I loved you ever so much brother. See you on Glory's side.
