Armando Gómez

Armando Gómez, age 86, of Chicago Ridge, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Amalia; loving father of Armando Gómez Jr., Jannet Carrasco, Richard (Denise) Gómez, Daniel Gómez, Jose Armando Gómez, Deziree Gómez and the late Enrique "Henry" Gómez; cherished grandfather of Emily, Megan, Adaly, Alyssa, Oscar Jr., Josue, Samuel, Mateo, Daniel Jr., Belinda, Armando Aly and great grandfather of Avery and Jacob; adored son of the late Abraham and late Amelia Gómez; dear brother of Miguel, Blanca, Amando and Alvaro Gómez; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Armando Gómez originally from Parás, Nuevo León, Mexico and later migrated to the United States at the age of 16. He traveled to California and eventually found his home in Chicago, IL where he met and eventually married, Amalia Gómez. This year, they were to reach 50 years happily married.

Armando was the epitome of a hard-worker. He retired from General Electric (GE) in 1997 after 30 years of service. He had the ability to repair anything, from cars to appliances and more. He was more than anyone could ever ask for in raising his 5 children with Amalia. He was an amazing grandfather and a best friend to everyone who got to know his smile and playful ways. His family thanks God for blessing them with such an amazing man in their lives.

A visitation for Armando will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Prayers Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM, from Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home to St. Linus Church, 103 S. Lawler, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Mass 11AM. Interment at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
