Charles R. Kara (Bud), age 78, of Markham passed away on Monday February 28, 2022. Beloved husband of Sharon Kara nee Sholtes for 54 years. Loving father of Steven (Jennifer) Kara, Brian (Michelle) Kara, and Joseph Kara. Cherished grandfather to Lauren, Hailey, Alexis and Jason. The son of the late Charles and Laura Kara. Dear brother to the late Richard (Jeanette) Kara, Anita (the late Stanley) Rzab, Robert (MaryAnn) Kara, Geraldine (George) Camp, the late Laura (Tom) Haack, James (Dianne) Kara, the late Patricia (Tom) Hesse, the late Carol Kara, Walter Kara, Linda (the late Edward) Widule, the late Frank Kara and Judith (the late Mark) Huffman. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Former employee of Markham Public Works for many years and Witco Chemical in Dixmoor. Retired Captain for the Markham Fire Department after 25 years of service. U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany, member of the Markham VFW Post 9801 and the greatest little league baseball coach ever!

A memorial visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. A Celebration of life will occur Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 9:00 AM until services at 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home.
