He was born on October 31, 1936, in Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Irene Marschke (nee Kasper).
Chuck, as he was affectionately known, was a former Marine and worked as a Chicago police officer for over 30 years. He was known for his thoughtfulness, sarcastic sense of humor, love of family and love for all animals. He loved shopping online for thoughtful gifts. If you needed anything, he would be right on it. He liked taking care of all animals but especially loved his dogs. He loved his family vacations and especially his cruises with his wife, he loved his coffee and toast, Chicago sports teams, keeping up with world events and social media. You could always count on him for a good laugh as he played with his Snapchat filters. But the most important part of his life was his family and making sure that everyone was well taken care of, safe and happy.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 65 plus years, Kathleen Marschke (nee Lawlor); his devoted children Michael Marschke, Christine (James Morris), and Suzanne (Raymond Peters); his loving grandchildren David (Jen) Morris, Brian (Julie) Morris, Kevin Morris, Jeffrey (Emily) Peters, Jackie Marschke, Alyssa Peters, Rachel (Tony) Natalino (nee Morris), Drew Marschke; his precious great grandchildren Chloe and Vivian Morris, Jeffrey and Charlie Peters.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Irene Marschke; his sister Barbara (Walter) Ksiazek.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025 from 2pm - 6pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL, 60453.
