Born on January 2, 1972, in Manila, Philippines, to the late Deogracias and Lucinda Denuna, Darnel made the south suburbs of Chicagoland his home for more than 30 years. He worked as a carman for the Metra railroads for over a decade, where his strong work ethic and camaraderie left a lasting impression on his colleagues.
Darnel’s passions were as bold and spirited as he was — sport motorcycles, fast cars, firearms, tattoos, and, of course, an unwavering love for Pepsi. A respected figure in the motorcycle community, he was both a mentor and an inspiration, often encouraging riders to “ride their own ride.”
He is survived by his children, Gabrielle Denuna, Samantha Cheramie, and Lazarus Denuna; his grandchildren, Ghett and Sophia Cheramie; and his brother, Dennis Denuna. His vibrant spirit, quick wit, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.
