I still miss you every single day dad and even though the kids never got the chance to spend time with you, they talk about their papa all the time. We will see each other again; I hope you're proud.

I guess this is my last father's day gift to you.  I miss you every day.  I wish you got to see our little guy more often, he would have had so much fun with his papa.  I love you.

I really miss you Uncle Den; I can't  imagine Christmas without you (or any other family gathering for that matter).  You are the most creative and talented person I have ever known. I promise I will pass on the "butt-fish" story to my kiddo's!  You are dearly missed.  We will take care of Auntie Ree for you!

You were a great uncle.  I enjoyed everytime I was able to see you.  Christmas will not be the same without you.  I learned so much from you over the years.  Thanks for being a great uncle.

You can not walk thru this facility without seeing marvels of engineering built into  equipment that Dennis designed and built. He will be deeply missed.

I had the good fortune to start work at Sipi Metals the same year as Dennis.  We were together nearly every work day of his three decades at Sipi.  Dennis wanted to make everything, better.  He was blessed with an unfair amount of brain power, which he coupled with a life-long inquisitiveness that resulted in his having a pretty good idea of how things work, that is, how nearly everything works.  He was the opposite of that person who learns a lot in school and then gradually slips behind with the passing of time.  Dennis not only continued learning, but his learning kept accelerating.  He was thinking outside the box long before the phrase was invented.  Early on, there were more than a few times when we gathered as a group to solve a plant problem.  We would begin to focus on refining an idea that we thought was the solution.  But then Dennis, who might not have said much up to that point, would suggest that we look at the problem in a different way.  A better description might be that he would turn the problem upside down and inside out and in so doing make it plain to all that the apparent problem would go away by itself if we would just improve the fundamental design.  The solution became easy for all to see, once we could see it from his perspective.  How could we not have seen that before, we wondered, but we knew.  We knew that Dennis had unique abilities that had sprung from the combination of his creativity and engineering intuition.  We quickly dismissed our own inadequacies, and moved on to enjoying that the problem was solved.  It didn't take many of these sessions before we began to ask Dennis what he thought before we began discussing the solution to the newest problem.  Thanks a million, Dennis, for being you.

Dear Ro, my sincere sympathy to you and your family in this difficult time. I will keep praying for you and your family as i did pray for Den.

So sorry for your loss.  Dennis was one of the most gifted engineers I had the pleasure of knowing; someone who could make something out of nothing and kept Sipi Metals running day & night.

What a lovely man Dennis Arakelian was. It's very sad to hear of his passing. We lived next door to the Arakelian's in Crete  when we were kids, and he was certainly part of the "village" that helped raise me. He seemed like the smartest man in the neighborhood when I was growing up. He knew how to fix everything, he knew what things were made of. He knew plants, animals, trees, boats, maps, shorelines, & vintage cars. He always had a calming influence and a warm demeanor. I remember how happy he and Roe were when Melissa and Denny arrived. I babysat many a night (which included watching Knight Rider with Melissa). I always thought he was a great dad. He was certainly the world's best neighbor. My most fond memory was of him coming over at a moment's notice to show me how to drive to Madison Wisconsin for college orientation. My first big trip by myself. Everyone was calm once he showed us what roads to take. I hope he is up in heaven, happy, cruising around Lake Michigan in the sky, in a big fantastic boat, with his parents and brothers, having a good time. I certainly will try and dock next to them for a quick visit when my time comes.
