Eric graduated from Oak Lawn Community High School and went on to work as a medical equipment installer, helping provide and maintain equipment used in medical care.
Outside of work, Eric enjoyed a variety of hobbies and outdoor pursuits. He found pleasure in reading, cycling, hiking, camping, and mountain climbing.
