Esther L. Barczyk, born in Chicago on August 7, 1953, was called to her new life by the Lord on December 3, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. She fought a courageous three year battle with cancer. She attended Lourdes High School and Moraine Valley College. As a dedicated registered nurse she helped others for over 35 years at various hospitals where she made countless friends. Esther was a true animal lover, loved a good party and laughs with friends and family, and at one time was thought to own sizable stock in the Miller Brewing Company. She will be terribly missed but never forgotten. Her meticulous style, beauty, and loving heart will be fondly remembered. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Aurelia, and her late companion, Charlene "Tiny" Koranda. She is survived by her loving brother, Dr. Casimir Barczyk, his companion James, sister Janyce (the late Edward) Haygood, dearest friend and confidant Brenda Hicks, and numerous other friends she so loved. Visitation on Friday, December 8th from 3-9 p.m. at Zimmerman-Sandeman Funeral Home, 5200 W. 95th Street. Funeral Saturday, December 9th, at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Gerald Catholic Church for Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
