Passed away on February 24, 2019

PRCHAL, Jean L. It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Prchal (nee Gradowski) announce her passing on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Jean, devoted wife and sweetheart of the late Edward Prchal, will be lovingly remembered as dearest mom of Judy (late John) Canning, Joni (Craig) Podalak, Mary-Jo (Robert) Svajlenka, Eddie (late Donna) Prchal, and Dr. Gerard (Kathie) Prchal. Adored Busia (Grandma) of Dr. John (Samantha) Canning IV, Janna (Marty) Anderson; Craig II, (fiancé of Aynna Lloyd) and Keith Podalak; Nicole Prchal Svajlenka (Thomas Blonkowski) and Natalie Prchal Svajlenka; Andrea (Jon) Amaral, Eddie and Andrew Prchal; John Charleston and Christopher Prchal. Dear Great-Grandmother of Emma and Molly Canning; Priscilla and Sophia Amaral. Cherished sister of the late Stephanie Andrassi, Eva Pons, and the late Joseph Gradowski. She touched the hearts of many as treasured Mother, Busia, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend. Long-time member of the PNA (Polish National Alliance), SPA, IPA, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Organizations and former leader of the Oak Lawn 4-H Club, Campfire Girls and Boy Scouts. Past employee of Midway Airlines. Jean loved her family, dancing the Polka, and traveling. We will truly miss her, knowing that we are all on the same path; she is just a few steps ahead of us, and we shall meet again. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 with a prayer service beginning at 10:15 am at the Funeral Home, followed by an 11:00 am Mass at St. Linus Catholic Church.
