Jeanne was born in Chicago, IL on June 27, 1947 to James and Lorraine Ray who preceded her in death. She married her longtime friend and love, Michael Simovic who preceded her in death in 1995.
She will be sorely missed and is survived by her twin sister and her husband, Judy & Gene Griffin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron & Cathy Simovic; plus nieces/nephews Tammy & Jim Belavich, Krista & Jay Haberkorn, Ronnie Simovic, James & Michelle Simovic, Kelli Gregory, Michael & Staci Griffin and many great nieces and nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
For many years, Jeanne served as a longtime member and worked as Church Secretary at her favorite place, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Alsip, IL. It was there that she met many of her friends and "family". It suited her servant heart. Jeanne was also a member of the Southwest Lutheran Choir. Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 (Also a VBS song she loved to teach.) "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Jeanne was a kind hearted woman who loved people with all her heart and with an open mind. She loved to make people feel welcome and help those around her. She shared her love by passing along comfort food recipes to her many friends and family.
All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, charm, grace and undying love and how she cared for everyone. The memories she made with each and everyone she touched will live on and continue to warm our hearts.
A memorial service will be celebrated when family and friends can gather together once again. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Alsip, IL.
