JoAnne Manos

JoAnne Gialamas Manos, of Orland Park, IL, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2013, at the age of 85. Preceded in death by her soul mate of 64 years, Pericles Manos, just one month ago, JoAnne has returned again to his arms. Born on September 18, 1927, and a graduate of the Saint Xavier University, she is survived by her daughter, Stacey (James) Toscas, Burr Ridge, IL; her sons, Frederick Manos, Burr Ridge, IL, and Dr. Thomas (Dr. Cynthia) Manos, Hinsdale, IL; her grandchildren, George (Diana) Toscas, Pericles Toscas, Mariana (Mark) Nowak, Pericles Manos, Marc Manos, Alexa Manos, Krystina Toscas, Zackery Manos, and Luke Manos; her great-grandchildren, James Toscas, Elena Toscas, and Konstantin Nowak; her sister, Penelope (Dr. George) Korkos, Elm Grove, WI; her brother, George (Candy) Gialamas, Madison, WI; her sister-in-laws, Helen Assimos, Wilmette, IL, and Ann Manos, Scottsdale, AZ; her brother-in-law, Jack Mitsakopoulos, Chicago, IL; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, Koumbari, and Godchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the joys of her life, lost their beloved "Nonie." A long-time teacher for the Chicago Public Schools, JoAnne lived a life full of love, laughter, and family, and will be remembered for her warmth, elegance, beautiful voice, hospitality, and especially, her spanakopita.
