John Edward Licata Sr., United States Army Veteran (1965-1968), SPEC-5, passed away peacefully in his own home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the age of 77. Beloved Husband of Joyce (Joy), nee Henry, for a loving 56 years. Devoted Father of John (Alisha) Jr. and Jeff (Carolyn). Proud Grandfather of Nathan, Anthony, and Naomi. Loving Son of the late John and Helen, nee Estes. Dear Brother of Beverly (the late David) Leick, and the late Herb; and Brother-in-Law of Nancy and Donald. Dear Uncle of Cheryl (Bryan) Wisneski, Brian (Lynette) Hoffman, Kathy Nier, Bill Leyo, Michael (Catherine) Osiadacz, and David Osiadacz.
He was a proud Chicago native. John's hardest battle was the one he lost to cancer after a long fight. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.
Friends and family will gather for a memorial visitation for John that will take place on Friday, July 12th, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 South Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, with a memorial service at 7:00 PM.
