Linda J. Cheatle

Beloved daughter of the late Harry and Carolyn Cheatle (nee Benzies); beloved step-daughter of the late Sally Cheatle (nee Buehler), and niece of the late Marjorie Cheatle.; loving sister of Jim (Lori) Cheatle, and step-sister of Bob (Patti) Buehler; cherished aunt of Zachary and Nicholas Cheatle, and Emily, Charlie, and Peter Buehler; dear cousin to the Osmeyers (Baltimore), and extended Cheatle families.

Employee of the SunTimes/Southtown Economist media group, and alumni of SIU.

A Memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 08, 2023, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home at 11333 S. Central Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL. Interment will be private at Chapel Hill Gardens South cemetery.

One legacy that Linda leaves us is her love of music. The one thread we all had with Linda was enjoying and debating music of all kinds. She picked it up from our mother’s toy keyboard and our father’s glen miller albums. That became a variety of albums and styles that Linda listened to, that Jay picked up from her. And Bob mixed in a whole variety of his own music. Her nephews and niece have picked that up and carry that forward. We could always share music and concert stories with Linda.
