

Nicoletta “Letta” nee: Panagos (age 79)
Beloved wife of John, loving daughter of the late Konstantinos and Demetra Panagos of Vassara, Greece. Devoted sister of the late Betty Matsoukas. Loving mother of Nancy (Angelo) Paravantes and Louis (Elaine) Katzioris. Adored Yiayia of Maria, Connie Ioannis Paravantes and Nicole Katzioris. Aunt to many here and in Greece and a friend to all.
After immigrating to the United States, in 1954 Letta worked for Harvey Metals as a Metalist before opening Johnnie’s Gyros in Miller Indiana with her husband, and as the “Gyro Perfector” for 37 years at their stand at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Crown Point, Indiana. An avid needle pointer, Letta enjoyed making many intricate pieces for her home and family. She was also a devoted, lifelong patron of Marshall Field & Co. Letta will always be remembered fondly by her loving family and friends. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful parties she and John hosted in their home. May her memory be eternal.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012from 4-9p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home 11333 S. Central Ave. Oak Lawn, Il.
