I knew Steve when my ex-husband (Mike Wasson) and he worked together at Terry’s in Bourbonnais. We all had growing families and lots of fun together. He and Sheryl were great people and good friends. So sorry that we lost touch and deeply saddened by his passing too soon. Thoughts and prayers with your family.

I always remember that Steve was a great family man, with an awesome sense of humor. He cared about others and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He will be missed by everyone who's life he touched. He is safely in Gods arms. My condolences you all.

Danielle, Sheryl and Samantha,

My deepest condolences for the loss of an amazing man. I would challenge anyone to find someone with a bigger heart than Steve. Since the day I met him he embraced me as family and I'll never forget his passion for family and God. I once told him that he personified the quote "Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words." He will be deeply missed by me, and I'm sure anyone who ever had the honor of meeting him. God bless Steve and all of you.

Sheryl and Steve,
I have too many memories to share them all, but all of the memories are intertwined with love, commitment, friendship, forgiveness, laughter or tears, and most importantly, Jesus. Steve served others before himself. His decision to serve inspired others to do the same. Steve had the ability to love and forgive unconditionally, which was a gift from God. He talked endlessly of his love for you, Sheryl, and all of his children and grandchildren. This man could tell the best of jokes, then cry when the praise team sang songs about Jesus. He loved to watch the Chicago Bears, and would often sport orange and blue to church on game day! God brings people into our lives on earth who inspire us to see a bigger picture ... one of eternity. Today the big picture is real for Steve. He enjoys heaven with his daughter Kacie, the twins, and numerous others such as our friend Tom Buckingham. He is singing in the ultimate choir and praise team. Finally home...waiting for you, Sheryl, and his kids and grandkids to join him. Steve Bechard... “Well done good and faithful servant”... see you in God’s time my friend.

The world has lost a man who was awesome in so many ways! I have lost a wonderful and faithful friend and brother in Christ! I'm sure you 've chatted with Tom already. You always made a difference wherever you were. I am sure it is the same in heaven! I will see you again Steve!!

Words cant describe the sadness in my heart. Became friends in high school and remained friends through the many years of life's ups and downs. Not goodbye, my friend... Just see you later. 💔😥
