Thomas J. Wolf

Thomas was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a devoted Catholic throughout his life. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Florida, where he generously gave his time, talents, and love to his church and community.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Ellen (nee Schoonveld), with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. He was a loving father to Thomas (Debbie); cherished grandfather to Erika (Eric) Fawcett and Thomas K. (Natalie) Wolf; and a proud great-grandfather to Braeden, Jocelyn, Johana, Evalina, and Isabella.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Thomas and Anna Wolf, and his sisters, Mary, Patricia, and Theresa.

Thomas was a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed by his extended family and many friends.

A hardworking and devoted family man, Thomas took great pride in providing for his wife and son. He worked as a truck driver to support his family, while his true passions included woodworking, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time on the water. He had a special talent for woodworking and lovingly built cabinets for his church as a labor of love, never counting the hours he devoted to helping others. His generosity, craftsmanship, and willingness to lend a helping hand reflected the kind of man he was.

Thomas also loved to travel with his family, share stories, and make memories with those he loved. He had a wonderful ability to listen and made people feel heard and cared for. His quiet generosity, compassion, strong work ethic, and devotion to his family and faith were evident in all that he did. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose faith, hard work, generosity, and love for his family will be remembered always.

Memorial Visitation: Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home,11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL. A private Memorial Service and Interment will be honored.

Thomas will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
