It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela R. Catuara-Lehrfeld, at the age of 89. She quietly left these earthly confines at home, with her daughter-Julie, and LDS Bishop at her side, on February 2nd, 2025. At that moment, Angela's wings broke through this human shell of a body and her spirit flew peacefully home.
Born in Chicago, (Bridgeport) IL, on June 15th, 1935, then later moving to LaGrange, IL.
Angela was a devoted mother of three children, a friend to many, and a pillar of faith in her community.
Loving wife to Leon "Cappy" Lehrfeld, she was affectionately known as "Nani" to family and was a constant source of love, guidance, wisdom, and support.
Despite losing her eyesight at an early age, Angela married, raised 3 children, and put dinner on the table every night. She was an impeccable Sicilian cook, always willing to share her talents in that regard. Angela's home was a haven of prayer and support for family, and many other people in need.
She was a professional singer for over 50 years, which also included singing with her husband Cappy in "The Togetherness Duo". Mom became a realtor for Remax Inc., a radio talk show host, a LDS Compassionate Service and Relief Society volunteer, and a successful timeshare sales associate.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, volunteering for over 40 years.
Although she could not see, mom was always called upon to help with directions to any city location. Her knowledge of the layout of Chicago streets was truly amazing. She was our family's GPS and guiding light.
She worked until she was 74.
Angela was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Inglima, nephew, Joe Inglima, and parents, Giuseppe and Filomena Catuara.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Manning, Brookfield, Mikael (Laura) Judah, Texas, and Joe Pagluica (girlfriend, Michelle Whitehead), Normal, IL.
Cherished Grandmother to Billy Manning (girlfriend, Shantae), Angela Byrd, Hannah Judah, Joshua Judah, Nick Pagluica, and Nina (Austin) Fisk; Great-grandmother to Elijah Manning (fiancé Valerie), Gianna, Robin, River, Angelo, and Filomena; Step-mother to Samual (Christine) Lehrfeld; Step-mother-in-law, to Skip, and Sophia Lehrfeld; Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
