Ann O Hoeksema

Ann O. Hoeksema, Age 90, of Oak Park, Illinois passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Larry & Tod O’Toole, her sister Mary O’Toole, her brother and sister-in -law Larry and Ruth O’Toole, her sisters-in-law Gail Wolfe, Sheryl Walker and Jane O’Toole and her niece Jennifer Mokhiber. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; her brothers Timothy (the late Gail Wolfe and the late Sheryl Walker) and Daniel (the late Jane O’Toole); nieces Jennifer O’Toole and Jeneane (Wayne) Stepan: and grand-niece Magdalen O’Toole-Stepan and grand-nephews Jakob O’Toole-Stepan and Patrick Wolfe (Laura Hines-Wolfe).

Born on May 18, 1935, she spent her early years growing up in Le Mars, Iowa and graduated from Le Mars High School in 1953. She attended Rosary College (now Dominican University) and graduated with a BA degree in 1957. After earning a master’s degree in education from Lewis University in Naperville, Ann embarked on a 42-year career as an elementary school teacher in Hillside, IL. During her career she earned the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching. She also volunteered at the West Lake Hospital and spent many hours tutoring.

A memorial visitation for Ann will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home & Cemetery, 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, followed by a chapel service at 1:00 PM.
