

Bernard Kenneth (Bernie) Bradshaw Jr., passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024 at the age of 81 years. Bernie was born July 2, 1943 in Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Kenneth (Bern) and Elizabeth (Betty) Bradshaw and his nephew, Jason Bradshaw. He is survived by his sister, Mary Joan Laramie and husband Pat; brothers John (Jack) Bradshaw and wife Katherine and Robert (Bob) Bradshaw and wife Angela. Bernie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nephews and dear friends.
Bernie spent most of his career working in the insurance industry. His profession allowed him to travel and live across the United States, including having homes in the Boston and San Francisco areas. Bernie loved traveling, especially to places where he could explore his lifelong love of history. Bernie’s retirement years were spent in his hometown of Chicago where he particularly enjoyed his neighbors, friends and the nightlife. He was a fitness buff; when he wasn’t working out on the machines, he could often be found biking along the shores of Lake Michigan and throughout the City. He was an animal lover— and his greatest passions were his two cats, Tommy and Axel. They truly were his pride and joy.
A prayer service for Bernie will be held at Hippach Memorial Chapel located on the grounds of Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home & Cemetery, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL, 60181 on Thursday, December 12th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
