

Christine “Chris” was born in Ironwood, Michigan, on February 23, 1948 to the late Elvera “Vera” (Koskinen) and David Ralph Anderson.
She was the second oldest of nine siblings.
She attended local schools and graduated Luther L. Wright High School in 1966. She studied music (voice and opera) at Northland College.
Chris was a loving mother and grandmother. She was also a wonderful cook, apprenticing with chefs from Le Cordon Bleu, while living and traveling extensively in Europe. Later in life, she turned that passion into an elite catering business in Palm Beach, Florida.
She truly adored animals and children of all ages, and was very devoted to her granddaughter, Cassandra.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Borden, son-in-law Jeffrey Buchheit, granddaughter Cassandra Buchheit, and step-granddaughter Lucy Buchheit of Clarendon Hills, IL.
She is also survived by sister Kathleen (Andrew) Cauthen, Collinsville, IL; sister Darlene "Dolly" (Donald) Dugan, Mercer, WI; sister Georgene Decker, Ironwood, MI; brother Daniel (Melanie) Anderson, Greenfield, MN; sister Barbara (Mark) Courtney, Carbondale, CO; brother Greg (Mary) Anderson, Belgium, WI; and sister Amy (Jim) Erickson, Ishpeming, MI; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her brother, David R. “Butch” Anderson, Jr.
Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be held on June 17, 2022, 4:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. Oakbrook Terrace, IL, followed by dinner at the home of Kimberly and Jeff Buchheit, 263 Coe Road, Clarendon Hills, IL.
