Mr. and Mrs. Koutsis,

I was out in Itasca today and thought to look up Dan and saw he passed away. I am so sorry for your loss.  My fondest memories of Dan is when Mr. Koutsis coached us to an undefeated season in 8th grade basketball. Those were truly great times.  Dan was a good friend and a good person. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Dan Koutsis was a gentle soul whose kindness was felt by all, especially the children who knew him.

Dan and I shared many sports events in the last decade--from coaching teams together/vs. each other to attending Cubs games, etc. I will never forget driving the teams in vans around the midwest, either.
