

David W. Clark, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the age of 92 in his home with his family at his side in Brookfield, IL.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nikki Lee (Rogers); his children, Kristen (Matt) Mimlitz, David (Jeannine) Clark; his grandchildren, Meredith and Klyn Carr; Jessica Clark and Tyler Guenther; Alex Mimlitz, and Megan Lacy; Rachael Clark and Zac Keller; AJ Mimlitz and Kaitlin Rusin; Megan Clark; and 4 great-grandchildren: Riley, Callie, Garrett, and Georgie.
David was born on June 16, 1932, in Evansville, Indiana. He grew up in Fort Wayne, Goshen, Wakarusa, Indiana and then landed in the Northwest side of Chicago where he developed a strong work ethic, commitment to service, and a love of learning. He was a loyal and loving husband to Nikki, with whom he shared 62 years of joy, laughter, and cherished memories.
As a father, David was a continued source of guidance, support, and inspiration to his children, Kristen (Sweet Pea) and David (Number One Son). He took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments and was always there to listen, offer guidance, and give a comforting hug.
David was drafted and later served in the Occupational Forces in Austria during the Korean War from 1952-1954. His very first plane ride was when he was drafted and sent to California for basic training.
David’s first jobs out of the service included installing bricking and working as an AMF technician. Professionally, David enjoyed a successful career at 3M as a Service Manager for over 30 years. Known as the “Big Store”, his hard work, attention to detail, integrity, and love of service earned him the respect of colleagues and co-workers alike.
David was a devoted member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Elmhurst for over fifty years. During his tenure, he joyfully served as church treasurer and usher.
In his free time, David found joy in reading, bowling, fishing, building models, grilling, watching the Cubs, golf, and westerns, and tending to his prized rose garden. David will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering love and devotion for his family, and the ability to touch all the lives around him. David was a keen observer and avid listener. He was a great example of how to live life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, respect, and laughter that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Arrangements are being handled to Chapel Hill, Oakbrook Terrace. Services are being officiated by Reverend Brad Maxon and Reverend Matt Mimlitz.
David will be dearly missed but never forgotten in our hearts. May his beautiful soul rest in peace and may his soul soar with the angels.He will be in our hearts forever.
