David Oscar Deetz, age 70, resident of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born June 24, 1946 in Garrett, Indiana. David was born to Oscar Monroe Deetz and Gloria Delpha (Fiandt) Deetz. They preceded him in death. He was married March 6, 1992 to Patricia Ann Mehoves, she survives. He has two brothers Stanley Albert Deetz of Colorado, Randall John Deetz of Waterloo, Indiana and two sisters Peggy Delpha Deetz who preceded him in death and Lisa Ann (Deetz) Leiter (Jeff) of Auburn, Indiana. He has two sons David Oscar Deetz, Jr. (Katerina) of Virginia and Jason Aaron Deetz of Seattle, Washington, one step daughter, Jessica Mehoves. He also has a grandson, Alexander Deetz of Texas and granddaughter Myla of Virginia. David was born and raised on a dairy farm in rural Waterloo, Indiana. He farmed with his dad and granddad until 1974 when he moved to Arizona. He later relocated to Utah and eventually transferred to Chicago. He spent several years working as a store manager for Silo Appliances, and Circuit City. In his later years he was a Regional Operations Manager for Sears Dealer Stores. He retired in 2011 and in his retirement, he drove a School Bus for two years. Since 1982 he was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints.
