Dottie was a devoted Mom throughout her years and participated in PTA school activities and Girl Scout Leadership activities. When the girls were little, Dottie took them to dance lessons and roller skating lessons. As the girls and Duane Jr. grew, they had many wonderful birthday parties with their friends. Dottie made sure the parties had good food and fun games. The children started piano lessons in grade school and percussion lessons from their father, Duane Sr. who was a percussion musician himself.

Duane Jr. developed into a musician at an early age and played piano and percussion instruments, so Dottie, Duane Sr. and Duane Jr. started a family musical act. Dottie became a professional clown, named Candy. She made balloon animals for all children during the musical act. Candy the Clown made many children very happy.

Dottie was also a wonderful cook. She always made delicious homemade dinners for her family and friends. Dottie prepared many memorable and delicious holiday family dinners in her home.

Dottie and Duane became Grandparents during the 1970's and were absolutely elated. They enjoyed watching Taryn and Todd grow into wonderful individuals. Besides being a Mom and Grandmother, Dottie started a Shaklee business helping many people nutritionally with the Shaklee products. Dottie also became active in her town's Neighborhood Watch Program and became a Block Captain for her area..

Dottie spent a lot of time with her husband Duane Sr. during their married years. She attended many of his concerts and musical events and had exciting vacations together. When the Great-Grandchildren were born, Dottie and Duane were so excited. They enjoyed seeing Amelie, Bravery, Christian, Kenzi and Becker grow. They enjoyed all family visits and pictures.

Dottie was also a great dog Mom and dog Grandmom. Spot, a sweet and gentle 85 lb. Pit Bull, lived with Dottie for her last three years. Dottie loved Spot and Spot loved Dottie.
