Edgardo Simeon Filart

Born on November 3, 1943, in Vigan, Ilocus Sur, Philippines to the late Dr. Merlino De Leon and Pilar Guerrero (nee Simeon) Filart, Edgardo lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. He was the devoted husband of Rebecca Alim (nee Carino) for nearly 55 years, a partnership marked by unwavering love.

Edgardo was the proud father of Erika (Nick) Haubach and the adoring grandfather to Alexandria "Lexi" Haubach, who was the light of his life. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in watching them grow.

Known for his lively spirit, Edgardo had a love for music and dancing that brought him great joy. Whether enjoying his favorite tunes or sharing a sweet dessert, he lived with enthusiasm, always seeking moments of joy and celebration. His warmth, humor, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Edgardo was the cherished brother to Milagros (Rufino) Regala, the late Merlino Jr. (the late Paz) Filart, Estelita (Jesse) Jamoralin, Aurora (Oscar) Ballesteros, Guia (Wency) De Luna, Antonino (the late Linda) Filart, the late Jose Mario (Delia) Filart, Vida Filart and Renato (Susan) Filart. Treasured uncle to many nephews and nieces; and a community of friends who loved him.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Edgardo’s life will be held on January 4th, 2025 from 10AM – until time of service at 1PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Inurnment to follow service.
