January 17, 1943, to May 11, 2025
Brother, Father, Uncle, Grandfather
Working three jobs, finishing college, raising a family and serving in the National Guard, Ed always managed to do his best by all.
Ed always had a smile and hello to acquaintances and strangers, and compliments and support to family and friends.
Ed was quite the fisherman. He started fishing with his dad and Grandfather at age 4. His mom would often reach into his pockets before doing laundry and come out with a handful of worms!
Basketball was his favorite sport to play, from his teens to well into his late 60's. Even though he was on the shorter side, he would be passed over to be chosen on a new team but fought over to be the first pick by the very next game. His nickname from fellow players throughout the years was Fast Eddie. He would show the younger guys in the neighborhood his tricks and talents.
Ed was married to the Love of his Life, Barbie, for 52 years. Their favorite thing to do, and what they were known for, was dancing, anywhere, any time. They would even dance in the grocery store to a fast or slow song playing from the store speakers! Always smiling, ever dancing, they were quite the great couple!
Ed and Barb had two children, two in-law children, and one grandchild:
Ryan (Placek) and Rob McKenna, Ed Placek, Kara Mitchell and their daughter Adelyn.
Young Adelyn was quite the shining star in Grandpa's eyes. His smile was ever present daily with this beautiful ray of Sunshine!
We will Forever Love and Miss you!
