Our deepest sympathy to Ann (George) Dervis and Dr. Paul (Pauline) and their family on the loss of their mother. My mother was also born in Northern Epirus and moved to Greece when she was 4 years old after the death of her mother and father.She was a close friend with Mrs. Gekas when we lived on Congress Street in Chicago. I remember when she would bring Ann to our apartment in a buggy when she was a little baby. Mr. and Mrs. Gekas were wonderful people. We are sorry we were unable to attend the wake or the funeral. May her memory be eternal.

We met Effie at church.  She was always a grcious lady who took interest in us all.She remembered my husband's favorite pastry and made sure there was some left for him at church coffe hour. I certainly will miss her.  May her memory be eternally remembered.

Words can not express how much I will miss my friend Effie. I will always remember Effie, my mother, Inge, Shirley all out at the pool in the sun. Effie was always comforting with kind words about my beloved mother when she left us. Momloved her equally as much I will always cherish the talks we had about history and life. I know Effie , my Mom ,Inge and Shirley are up there having tea time. God Bless Effie

Ann and George, Efie was not only a friend of ours but to Katina Maggos, Kathy's grandmother and Pelelope Vlahos,among many of our relatives.  She would constantly bring Greek cookies to the Homer 98 meeting for Kathy to taker to her mom Penelope!  She will be missed.

What a lovely legacy your Mom and Grandmother has left behind.  She was incredibly gracious and lovely, while at the same time almost wickedly funny, smart, a great cook and baker and loving friend, mother and grandmother.  She will be missed by all of us but, I think, particularly, we who grew up together and shared our Moms.  She will always be in my heart.   Love to you all.
