James D. Ekwall, age 69, a longtime resident of Villa Park, at rest December 3, 2019. Beloved husband of Christine, nee Dolce. Loving son of the late Gustaf and Margaret Ekwall. Dear brother in law of Ann (James) O'Brien, Jean (Jim) Murphy, and Tom (Mary) Dolce. Loving uncle of 18 and loving great uncle of 19. Jim was an avid book reader, a well known coffee connoisseur, and was known for his great and sometimes strange sense of humor. Visitation will be held on Sunday December 8 from 1 PM to 5 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home 17W201 Roosevelt Rd., Oakbrook Terrace. A Memorial Tribute will take place at 4 PM. Interment will be held privately.
