James J. Helms, age 84, US Army Veteran, passed away on August 13, 2025. Loving husband of over 59 years to Alicia Helms; Beloved father to Dean Joseph (Carol) Helms, Diane Lynne (Chet) Smith, and the late Christopher Mark Helms; Cherished grandfather to Miranda and Sean; Dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Helms, along with his brother, Donald (Sylvia) Helms. Services will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Rd, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Visitation for Jim will from 10 AM – 12 PM on Wednesday, August 20, where a Funeral Service will follow at 12 PM. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
