Jean, age 87, born in Chicago, Illinois, a beloved mother, and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Lombard, Illinois. She is survived by her companion, Albert; her daughters Laura and Dianna (Kent); her grandchildren, Adrian, Julian, and Christian; her brother, Larry (Marge); and many friends who loved her dearly.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Michael and her parents, Eston Collins and Evelyn Simosky née Kennedy.
Jean will be remembered for her generosity, her devotion to her family, and the countless ways she showed her love by taking care of the people around her. She was someone who was always there. If someone needed a ride, a helping hand, a little money, a meal, or simply someone to talk to, she wanted to help.
Her family was at the center of her life. She supported her children and grandchildren in everything they did and took great pride in their accomplishments. She encouraged their education, attended school activities and graduations, and was always willing to drive wherever she was needed.
She also loved spending time with her family. Holidays and family gatherings were important to her, and she made the effort to be there. Her birthday fell on Christmas Day, and although the day was often shared with the holiday, she accepted it with her characteristic grace and never complained.
Those who knew Jean will hold close the ordinary moments that showed her generous heart, as well as the holidays, travels, conversations, and laughter shared. Her warmth and sense of humor live on in the stories we tell—especially the unforgettable adventures that still make us smile.
She will be missed more than words can say, but the love she gave us will always be part of who we are. She taught us what it means to show up, to care for one another, and to make the people we love feel cherished. We will carry her with us, always, with deep gratitude and endless love.

Memorial Visitation for Jean will be from 10 AM - 12 PM on Friday, November 20, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Rd, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, where a 12 PM Memorial Service will follow.
