John P. Slobodnik

John P. Slobodnik, 88, passed away on July 10, 2026. Beloved Husband of the late Barbara M. for a loving 63 years. Devoted Father of James (Lori Jane), Paul R. (Donna), John M., and Peter (Kim). Proud Grandpa of Jimmy and Jason; Francine; and Johnny. Loving Son of the late Paul and Virginia. Dear Brother of Richard, and Susan (Roger) Wittersheim. Loving Uncle of Mark and Chrissy; Mike (Amy) and David; and Matthew (Sarah) Kapolczynski.

John will be remembered as a loyal, hardworking, and kind man whose greatest pride was his family. He had a deep love for fishing and found peace on the water, where patience, quiet moments, and nature brought him happiness. Whether spending time with loved ones or casting a line, John appreciated life’s simple blessings and led by example through his integrity, generosity, and steadfast commitment to those he loved.

His gentle spirit, dependable nature, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the many memories he leaves behind and the lasting legacy of love, loyalty, and strength that will continue to live on.

John will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Visitation will take place Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Chapel Service to follow directly at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
