Jose Espiritu

June 2, 1942 – April 2, 2014

Jose (Joe) Natividad Espiritu, 71 of Lombard, IL passed away on April 2, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Taguig Global City, Philippines.

Joe was born in Marilao, Bulacan, Philippines on June 2, 1942. He graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Joe worked as a mechanical engineer for Sargent and Lundy and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife Arleen (21 years); son Tristan (Christina); step-son Louie (Laarnie); grandchildren Angel, Larissa, Gem, Jude, Sophia, Gaberiel and Tiernan; sisters and brother Teresita Mercado, Froilan Espiritu (Erlinda), Celerina Dulce (Rolando), Corazon Parreno (Allan Rex), Elisa Rilloma (Norman) Josefina Lamoste (Ramon) and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Elino and Gaudiosa Espiritu; his brother, Rosauro Espiritu; his brother-in-law, Marcelo Mercado and his first wife Anita Espiritu (22 years).

The funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Monday, April 21 at the Chapel Hill-Gardens West at 17W201 Roosevelt Road in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Burial will follow the funeral service. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18 from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday, April 19 from 3pm to 8pm.
