Judy L. Soper, nee Camaioni, a cherished beacon of loving kindness, passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on March 27, 1940, in Oak Park, Illinois, Judy's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and unwavering dedication. She departed this world in the comfort of her daughter's home in Orland Park, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her family.
A longtime resident of Stone Park and formerly of Melrose Park, Judy, along with her husband, was the proud co-owner of Arthur's Pub in Stone Park. She also contributed her meticulous skills as a secretary at Midwest Ink. Judy's professional life was marked by the same warmth and care she bestowed upon her loved ones. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Arthur, a partnership that stood as a symbol of enduring affection and mutual support.
Judy's role as a mother was one she held closest to her heart. She was the loving mother of Cathy (Kevin) Davis, Tim Soper, and Arthur "Lincoln" (Darlene) Soper. Her children remember her as a guiding light, always leading by example and providing a safe harbor in any storm. Judy was also the proud grandmother of Allison Soper, Robin (Jim) Devitt, Lincoln Soper, Justin (fiancée Charlotte Kline) Davis, John (fiancée Jenna Hebeler) Davis, and Juliana Soper, who will carry forward her legacy of love and spirit.
The daughter of the late Bernice and Freddy Camaioni, Judy's family roots ran deep. She was a dear sister to David Camaioni, Michael (Pat) Camaioni, Betty (Michael) Zito, Phillip (Pam) Camaioni, Terry Camaioni, Mark (Debbie) Camaioni, Steven Camaioni, and predeceased by her siblings Nikki (the late Denny) O'Leary, Jimmy (Linda) Camaioni, Mary (Joe) Peters, Butchy Camaioni, and Pauly Camaioni. Judy's extended family included numerous fond nieces and nephews, all of whom benefited from her selfless and spirited nature.
Those who knew Judy will remember her as the embodiment of love and selflessness. Her spirited approach to life was infectious, inspiring all who crossed her path. Judy's ability to connect with people, to make them feel seen and valued, was one of her most remarkable qualities. Her presence could light up a room, and her laughter was the melody that played in the hearts of those she touched.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Judy that will be held on Friday, April 5th, beginning at 9 AM until the time of chapel service at 11 AM. The services will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 East Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Judy's final resting place will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery-Christ the King Mausoleum in Hillside, where she will be laid to rest in peace and dignity.
