Lorraine was born in Freeman, South Dakota and moved to Chicago as a young girl. She met and married her sweetheart, George, in 1942 before he was deployed to Europe during WWII. She was one of the brave women who worked in an airplane parts factory to support the war effort.
She was a working mom and enjoyed working with the other women at an electronics manufacturer. She was able to balance family, work, and play.
Lorraine was an avid Chicago Cub fan. She and her husband, George, enjoyed going to games at Wrigley field. She also enjoyed bowling as a hobby.
She loved traveling for her birthday with her daughter, Jo-Ann. They visited islands in the Caribbean and had a great time together over the years.
Always kind and caring, she was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She has been an inspiration to all to live life to the fullest.
Lorraine was the loving mother of Jo-Ann (late Jerry) Bavry of Warrenville, IL; dear sister of the late Elsie Anderson and Anna Kunzle; and fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
