

Marilyn R. Romanec, longtime resident of Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and lived a life full of dedication, warmth, and quiet strength.
Marilyn devoted over 40 years of service to ComEd, where she worked in the office, building a respected career through her diligence and reliability. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her love of coloring, a pastime she enjoyed as a creative outlet and a way to relax.
She was a proud member of the USO and a longtime member of Berkley-Hillside Presbyterian Church, where she found both faith and friendship. Marilyn is a proud and active member of Yorkfield Presbyterian Church through her remaining years. Marilyn loved joining friends on outings and day trips, creating cherished memories along the way.
She married the love of her life, the late Mathew Romanec, and together they shared many beautiful years. Marilyn was a beloved sister to Dorothy Carr and the late Thomas Markley, and a caring aunt to Debbie Doweidt, Karen (Gino) Battistoni, and the late Tom (Robyn) Markley. She has three generations of nieces and nephews, a proud great aunt and a great-great aunt.
Marilyn’s warmth, gentle spirit, and dedication to those she loved will be remembered always.
