This was such a lovely service. 
I know Martin had a hard time adjusting to life in Huntsville but I was excited to have a cousin living just a couple of hours away.  For several years we enjoyed visiting together two to three times a year.
Martin was definitely an angel among us. He was so giving. I will never forget the support he offered when my first husband, Scotty, passed away. He was with me the whole day of the auctioning of  Scotty’s shop contents. He was a rock and of course had the knowledge of such things which I knew nothing about. 
I know you all will miss him so much. I can’t believe he is gone. He was one of three of the Martin cousins younger than myself. He should still be here but I know he is in a happier place. Rest In Peace.

Martin was a co-worker that I have known since St. Louis but unfortunately did not have the honor of working closely with him.  
I greatly appreciated being able to attend the online memorial service and gain a better appreciation of just what a phenomenal man he is.

Martin was a great friend to many, including myself.  A good man with a huge heart.  I met him in St. Louis and he was a big part of a small group of us who attended bible study together.  My condolences to his family.  Debby

I am forever thankful for Martin’s friendship and the positive impacts he made to my life.  We met at what was then the University of Missouri-Rolla in the early 1980s and remained friends ever since.  Martin never met a stranger and was the catalyst for a group of student engineers that brightened and enriched a college experience that could have been cold and formidable.  After graduation he never forgot about his  friends.  When Martin learned of an engineering internship with the Army Materiel Command in November of 1988, he encouraged me to apply.  That kind, thoughtful act resulted in a wonderful 30 year career with the Army for which I am eternally in his debt.  We shared many common interests including vehicle repair and home repair/remodeling projects.  Martin’s enduring character, wit, resilience, and mirth made for countless happy memories and many laughs.  I will never forget what an honorable, true friend he was in whom you could entrust your confidences.   

      When I got the call about Martin I was sure there was a mistake. Martin, his friend Howard and I had plans to floor the attic above his garage the following weekend. Martin had moved into the brand new house just a few weeks before. He was really proud it. He planned out every room (including his Niece Sarah’s) and made sure the house was wired perfectly for TV and internet and provided cables for his ham radio equipment. 
      That’s how I met Martin, through our Huntsville (Alabama) Amateur Radio Club. Once he discovered the radio group he was totally involved. Much like his love of scouting he rolled up his sleeves and volunteered for our public service events and special projects, or just socialized with us electronic enthusiasts. Okay, geeks :) The only meetings he missed was when he was mentoring in his regional scout outings.
        Martin was great fun to be around. He was kind, caring and a wonderful friend. He loved his family, his country and his God. Martin, it’s tough not having you around. Peace brother.

I did not know Martin well but knew he was a good guy. Think I ran into him more at the Auto Skills Center than I did at the office.  My sympathies on your loss.

I knew Martin a little bit in St. Louis during Army AVSCOM days. But got to know him more when we worked together in the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopter office and then in Utility office   Every time we saw each other in the hall we would stop and have a great conversation about work and life. He had such a great wit and dry humor about everything.  When I first met him it was a little confusing but when you got to know him you truly appreciated  the perspective and humor. He truly was interested in other peoples interests and wanted to give guidance and assistance both professionally and personally. I will sincerely miss him and knowing I will not bump into him for a nice chat. 

For the last four years, I've enjoyed Martin's company at our Holy Spirit Catholic Church BSA mtgs, banquets, and activities.  This picture was taken Feb 22nd, 2020 at the Cub Scout Crossover Ceremony & Banquet.  My two sons are on the left, and we had a great time.  

I wanted to share that I worked directly with Martin for over 14 years in the U.S. Army Aviation Engineering Directorate and interacted with him every day during this time as he was my “Team lead”. 
I consider Martin a friend and mentor. He was always available and took time to answer my questions whenever I needed his technical and institutional knowledge.  We often had lunch together where we would discuss current events and his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts and efforts to assist Scouts who were trying to become Eagle Scouts.  He was an avid Amateur Radio enthusiast and often volunteered his time when the local club assisted in events.  He always spoke highly of his sister Ruth and his Niece and looked forward to spending time with them during the holidays.  He loved his GMC Yukon and Buick Lacrosse Super and took pride in performing maintenance himself.  
I will miss Martin a great deal, he was a true patriot and would go out of his way to help others.

I worked with Martin at Redstone Arsenal. He never hesitated to help and was the quintessential boy scout.  He was an incredibly smart man 

Martin was part of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) back in the 90's. Back then and through 2020, Martin was one of the smartest and most humble people I know. A favorite memory was visiting Martin in Huntsville, AL with another friend back in 2010 . Martin arranged a tour of Redstone and meeting a few of the amazing people he collaborated with through his 30 + year career. Also toured the Space and Rocket Center. Martin had a knack of being able to explain complex concepts in a way you can understand without talking over your head... Ok, sometimes over my head, but anyway! If he didn't know an answer to a problem, he'd research and figure it out and resolve the issue for you.  He was an interesting guy, always inquisitive and always learning.

In short, Martin was a good man, with a great heart, lived life the right way, and a good friend. 

Thank you Lord for Martin and for the lives he touched.

To Ruth, Derek, Sarah and to all of the Ohrenberg family, I am so sorry for your loss. May you find peace and be comforted by the Lord, family, friends, and loved one's during this difficult time. Martin's life is certainly one to be celebrated.

Martin was friends with my roommate I talked to Martin on the phone for about six months.  I became friends with him.  He was an usher in my wedding.  I missed his friendship when he moved to  Al.
