Mike (Ghasem) Setork of Aurora, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at the age of 60. After several years of declining health due to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Mike died peacefully with his beloved wife and sons by his side.
Mike was born in Tehran, Iran on February 20, 1960, and was the beloved son of Mohammad Setork, who predeceased him, and Fakhri Setork. Mike was the beloved husband of Elahe and father of two sons, Alireza and Erfan. He is survived by his seven brothers, Ali, Abbas, Mahmoud, Mehdi, Akbar, Mashaalah, and Kazem. He was the beloved father-in-law of Mahsa and Pegah and grandfather to Kian. Mike was a member of a large and loving extended family. His family and friends will mourn his passing and miss him greatly.
A self-made man, gifted with a brain faster than a calculator, Mike lived an accomplished life. He was a respected businessman for over forty years. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1994 after running a successful family-owned printing company. His entrepreneurial spirit allowed him to build and continue his legacy from Tehran, Iran to Aurora, Illinois. He established successful businesses that spanned over 20 years, a builder who also invested and managed several properties and buildings. He was not only a leader but a mentor to many, from his employees to his nieces and nephews. Mike had a true passion for cars and was an avid Bears fan. His attention to detail and his incredible work ethic were admired by all that knew him. Mike’s generosity and kind soul touched the lives of many, and even in his passing, he gave the gift of life through donating his organs.
Private interment to take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home in Oak Brook Terrace. A public memorial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in memory of Mike Setork to support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure for those suffering from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. https://app.mobilecause.com/vf/PFFTribute/GhasemMikeSetork
