I went to school with Vanessa and talked to her on a couple occassions.  She was always so full of life-always a bounce in her step and a smile on her face.  I just found out not too long ago and am overcome with grief.  I am so sorry Vanessa.  You are greatly missed.  I know you're still smilin up there tryin to have God crack one with you. I just feel so horrible but I know God has your back and you're just fine rest in peace Vanessa.

Like so many others, I was a client of Vanessa's.  She has been coloring my hair for years and I always walked away feeling beautiful.  We had such wonderful conversations-- she would make me laugh for the entire 2 hours-- and I cannot express the shock and sadness that I feel right now.  My sincerest condolences go out to her friends, family, and coworkers.  Vanessa, you are such a beautiful person, both inside and out.  You will be missed.

I spent quite a bit of time "in the chair" and chatting with Vanessa over the past few years -- I trusted my hair to her completely, along with a lot of personal things that went on in my life during that time.  We had some really great talks; she was pretty wise for her age and such a pleasure to get to know.  She was a really genuine and caring person, with a great sense of humor.  I'll miss her.  When my father died suddenly in November, I decided to go ahead and keep my appointment with Vanessa, although I'd been crying all night and hadn't slept.  As soon as I told Vanessa what happened, she gave me a hug, said she'd be right with me, and after a few minutes, came back from Corner Bakery with juice and a muffin for me, just out of the goodness of her heart.  She was one of the caretakers of the world, that's for sure.  I'm stunned and so saddened by the news of her death.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Vanessa's family and friends.  It was truly a pleasure knowing her.

Vanessa, you will be missed dearly. I hope you rest in peace. <3

Vanessa, I know we had only known each other for a short 2 years, but every time we talked it felt like we had been friends forever. Sadly, the world has lost Vanessa Tobey, a wonderful young woman.  I will remember her kindness, her smile and her beauty.  There are few appointments that I kept with  regularity, but I rarely missed my six week time with Vanessa.  She loved her work and I was so fortunate to be under her care. No matter what my mood when I arrived, I would leave feeling better.  We shared a lot abut our lives during those 2 hours.  I will miss  you, I will miss the care you took with my hair,  I will miss always telling you "I am in a hurry," I will miss telling you about my life,and I will miss hearing about yours.

I met Vanessa through her brother and also my friend Brain Tobey. I knew  Vanessa mostly through her high school years, I seen her off and on there after. I met Vanessa through Ulta as one of her customers.  She always met me with a smile and a wonderful carefree attitude, always challenging me to try something new.  I will miss our appointments together and catching up every six weeks to see what was new in your life.  You will always be a sweet angel ~ and it is a tragedy that your life was cute so short.

I'm so sad that you had to leave so soon. You and I have gone through so many up's and down's over the past 8-9 years together but the past 2 or 3 years we have grown increadibly close and shared so many similarities in life.
