

Wendy Geyer Nixon, 84, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 8, 1940, she graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Wendy enjoyed a 37 year career as a flight attendant with United Airlines, a role that sparked her lifelong love of travel. She was also a teacher and a gifted artist, creating everything from paintings and watercolors to jewelry. An avid golfer, yoga enthusiast, and adventurer, Wendy embraced life with creativity and joy.
A cancer survivor, she gave back generously through her involvement with the Why Me organization and Gilda’s Club. For the past 12 years, she made her home at The Clare in Chicago, where she was surrounded by a cherished community of friends.
Wendy is survived by her husband, John Nixon; her brother, John Geyer (Shannon); her stepson, Scott Nixon (Amy) and their children, Benjamin and Emily; and her stepdaughter, Alicea Grau (Kayne) and their children, Liam, Luke, and Ella.
A private interment and celebration of life will be held for family and close friends by invitation.
