In her early years, Jodie lived and worked in Yosemite. She then lived in Oakhurst for several years before settling permanently in Ahwahnee in 1995.
Her career revolved around print shops and newspapers, but her true passion was always in helping animals. She cared deeply for the welfare of animals and gave many dogs and cats a wonderful, permanent home. Jodie was also heavily involved with the Oakhurst SPCA and aided in the community's effort to build and open the beautiful shelter that now exists in Ahwahnee.
Jodie leaves behind her sisters, Amy King and Connie (Greg) Demple and nieces Julia and Natalie, aunt Judith (Michel) Chertier and her beau Tom Bowman.
She was predeceased by her parents Earl & Royce King and brother Will King.
Per her wishes, Jodie's ashes will be scattered from a special place in the mountains.
The above obituary was written by Jodie. Her sisters would like to add that any donations, made in Jodie's memory, to your local animal shelter would certainly make Jodie smile.
