Upon reading the other tributes one can see that Joseph was a good friend and mentor. I would like everyone to know that he was also a wonderful brother. I will miss him so much.

Joseph was a man of many great qualities and characteristics. He knew how to make the best out of a bad situation. He was not only a mentor and advisor, but he was a great friend. I will truly miss the talks we had and his awesome sense of humor. My deepest thoughts and prayers to Lori, Hollie, and Matthew. Joseph will truly be missed. Till we meet again great friend.

Joseph was a very special man. I have a funny little story I would like to tell that illustrates his character & sense of humor. On a very cold late night in November 1980, I was traveling from the Bay Area to Fresno State where I was attending Nursing School. I committed some type of traffic violation in my 1970 Datsun & next come the flashing red lights & Officer Shreve. 'Miss, do you know why I pulled you over?'. Pause. 'Well, I can stand out here in the cold & write you a ticket, or I can get back in my warm car'. Long pause. 'I think I'll get back in my warm car.'
I think Joseph loved to interpret & practice living life his own way.
I always smile when I think of that first meeting. I think Joseph is smiling now.
Blessings to Joseph, Lori, Hollie & Matthew.
