In Loving Memory of Andrew Jackson
Andrew graced this world from September 28, 1932, to June 14, 2024.
Born in Columbus, Mississippi, he was lovingly nurtured in Jackson, Mississippi, by his devoted parents, Willie Esco Jackson and Mattie Barnes Jackson. Andrew later made Oakland, California his cherished home alongside his beloved wife, Rosemary Jackson.
Andrew was the cherished brother of Lavada Jackson Craft, Hazel Jackson Ashley, Willie Jackson Jr., Elmon Jackson, Tommie Jackson, and Henry Jackson.
A proud father, Andrew leaves behind a legacy through his five children: Patricia Jackson Rideout, Ann Jackson, Charlotte Jackson Worm, Andrew Jackson Jr., and Roslyn Jackson Bond.
His family was a source of immense pride and joy, and he treasured the moments spent with them.
Andrew's journey took him from Mississippi to Reno, Nevada, where he worked diligently at the Ford Autoplant. He later settled in Oakland, California, where he dedicated around 30 years of his life as the head custodian of building, grounds, and gardening. His commitment and work ethic left a lasting impact on those who knew him during the 1960s through the 1990s.
Beyond his professional achievements, Andrew was a man of many passions. He found happiness and joy in taking his boat out for fishing, cooking, riding his motorcycle, gardening, and gambling. Above all, he loved to laugh, engage in meaningful conversations, and spend quality time with friends and family. His vibrant spirit and warm personality endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Andrew Jackson's legacy is one of love, laughter, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth, kindness and generosity. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories he created.
