Evelyn Renee Woods-Richards, age 67, of Oakland, California passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. Evelyn was born August 24, 1954 in Berkeley, California to Mary L. Woods amd Claudell Woods Sr. She was the second eldest of four children. Evelyn accepted Christ at the tender age of five and was baptized by the late, Dr. Herbert Guice.
She attended Elmhurst Elementary, Madison Junior High School and Castlemont High School where she graduated in 1972. After graduating high school, Evelyn attended Peralta Colleges, UC Berkeley and Cal State Hayward, where she graduated with a Bachelor's in child development and minor in English in 1974.
She always said, "You can do anything, you set your mind to, as long as you keep GOD first."
