

A Celebration of Life for Mr. James Frank Hendrix Jr for will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at
11:00 a. m. at C. P. Bannon Mortuary, 6800 International Blvd, Oakland, CA 94621.
James Frank Hendrix, Jr. was born on February 11, 1950, to proud
parents, James and Christine Hendrix. As the eldest of nine children, he
was affectionately known as “Junior” and embraced his role as the big
brother with love and pride.
During his school years, Junior attended Melrose and Lockwood
Elementary Schools, Havenscourt Junior High, and Fremont High
School. After completing his education, he worked alongside his father
at Vulcan Steel Foundry and later continued his career at General
Grinding, Inc. Polishing Co., where he eventually retired.
Junior met his high school sweetheart, Ruby Peters. From their union,
God blessed him with his beloved son, James F. Hendrix III.
A man of deep faith, Junior followed the teachings of Islam and remained
devoted in prayer—morning, noon, and night—always saying, “If it’s
God’s will.” His compassion extended beyond his family and faith, as
he also supported the Save the Children Foundation.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, James Hendrix III (Christina);
two grandchildren, Christopher Bibbens-Williams and Monica Hendrix;
four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Terry and Gary (Roxanne); and
three sisters, Diane (Garcia), Margaret, and Ruth. and a host of nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Christine
Hendrix; and three brothers, Clyde, Claude and Billy.
Junior will be remembered for his faith and his unwavering love for
family
