

Deacon Kelly confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. The family attended Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, Arkansas under the leadership of the Late Rev. O.B. Jones, where Kelly learned to sing and appreciate music.
At the age of 17 years old, he moved to Oakland, California. Kelly went on to attend Barber School and received his Barber license. He united with the Bible Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late O.P. Smith. He served as a Deacon and sang in the choir there for many years. In the latter years he moved his membership to Williams Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Anderson.
He met and married his First Love the Late Regina Matthews. They were married for over 60 years until her death. This Power Couple opened in 1962, Hamilton’s Barbershop, Beauty Salon and Beauty Supply Store. This Business Chain became a cornerstone for the Oakland Community.
Deacon Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Kelly and DeOllie Hamilton; His first wife Regina Hamilton: His five sisters; Verdell, Annie Mae, Lallie, Almer and Beulah Bee.
He leaves to cherish his memories his Present Wife; Bettye Wright Hamilton, her daughter Krystal (Jeff) and grandchildren Marcus, Malachi, Jalen, Jaliyah: His three Godchildren; Tyrone, Tiffany and Salonika: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, especially His Nephews; Alvin Farmer, Everett Farmer, Orlinza Washington and John Matthews (Brother-In -Law).
