

Alberto Guzman, age 89, of Ocala, passed away April 16, 2013 at home. He was born on August 11, 1923 in Mayagues, Puerto Rico, a son to the late Isabelino and Deonisia (Colon) Guzman. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and belonged to the American Legion. He was a member of The Upper Room Church in Ocklawaha, and enjoyed fishing. His family remembers that he had a great impact in the lives of his great grandkids. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of over 66 years Maria, a son and daughter-in-law Alberto and Emilia Guzman, Jr. in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter, Carmen Lea Freuman of Altamonte Springs, FL, one sister Luz Maria in Puerto Rico, four grandchildren, David Freuman, Melyssa Rivera, Lina Cortes, Albert Guzman, III, seven great grandchildren, Gabriel, Stephanie, Joshua, Melyssa, Jason, Andrew, and Stephen. A visitation has been scheduled for Friday April 19, 2013 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will take place privately in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers donations the family suggests donations to Hospice of Marion County or the American Legion.
