Arlene Marie Rust

Arlene Marie Rust, age 94, of Ocala, Florida passed away on August 8, 2023 at her home. She was born on February 10, 1929 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late Percy L. and Rita G. (Mac Laughlin) MacCallum.

Arlene attended University of Miami where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Philosophy and was just shy of her Master’s Degree.

She was a server at Ryan’s for over 20+ years and loved it. Arlene wrote her own memoir and was known for her passion for researching stocks, science and of course, philosophy. She enjoyed baking, feeding the many birds that came to visit her yard which she loved to keep well kept. She’d always be out there picking up sticks and tending to anything that needed it.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Frederick Rust and son, Timothy Rust.

Arlene is survived by her three granddaughters, Lenore (Robert) Leavey, Gillian Rust and Rebecca Wood; five great grandchildren, Zoe, Bianca and Donovan Leavey and Wensday and Raina Profitt; nephew, Tommy (Fran) Carreras, great niece, Judy Carreras along with her cousin, Edna Jedneak.
